02:04 pm - Music News Figured I'd pass this on in case someone's interested. Tom Rush is about to release a new CD. It's his first studio album since nineteen-mumblety. One of the harmony singers will be Emmylou Harris. Her voice with Tom's is quite a treat. Over the years Tom Rush has acquainted me with many fine musicians that I first heard because Tom covered their songs. Some of the more famous ones are Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, Jackson Browne and my beloved Austin Lounge Lizards. Should be available in early winter at his website and next year in stores. As soon as I hear it I'll let you know what I think.

(I'll have to look it up on lastfm, no funds for cd's)
Have you heard Emmylou with Gram Parsons?

Yeah, but a long time ago.
Did you ever hear the cover Beck and Emmlyou did of Sin City on the Gram Parsons tribute album. Awesome.
Sure did. Have the CD. Back in the dark ages Emmylou and Gram toured. I caught about five of the shows. They finally brought it out on CD. It was every bit as good as I remember.

No, I hadn't. For some strange reason I never think of you tube at all and only go there when someone directs me. Somewhat off topic; are you familiar with the late Stan Rogers? I was reminded of him yesterday by hearing for the first time in a while his cover of Archie Fisher's Witch of the Westmoreland. He did some wonderful stuff. |
